Display Grid Lines
Use the Grids tab to create grid lines in regular intervals or to specific times and station points. The time and distance grid is shown within the time-distance cell.
Ways to access
Open an integrated (time-distance) view and click in a time-distance cell with an existing grid. Click the Grid tab in the Object Properties pane (Details toolbar).
Steps
Define a time or a distance grid
Click the Details button you can edit the assigned grid or create a new grid.
Enter a name for the grid definition in the dialog Distance Grid/Time Grid Properties in the name field.
Every entry within the table shows a definition of the grid lines. Using the button add you can add new entries.
When a grid line should be repeated should be entered in the column Repeat every.
The Distance unit can be chosen in a separate column.
The Time unit can be chosen in a separate column.
Select the line color, the line size, and the line type for the grid lines.
Close the dialog.
Options
Special settings (time grid)
Start grid lines - End grid lines -Expand in time
By activating the option Expand in time the grid lines will be pulled across the whole view. If you deactivate the option, the grid lines will be shown over the entered time area.
Example
The grid lines project start + project end will be entered as individual lines for a date.
The grid lines for the weeks will be fit according to the total time area.
The grid lines for days are only entered between 01.09.2007 and 01.10.2007 .
Total distance - start (distance) - end (distance). By activating the option Expand in distance, the grid lines are pulled over the whole view. If you deactivate this option, the grid lines will only be shown over the entered distance area.
Special settings (distance grid)
Begin grid line - End grid line - Expand in distance. By activating the option Expand in distance the grid lines are pulled across the whole view. When deactivating this option, the grid lines will only be shown over the entered distance area.
Snap - If you activate the option Snap, new Activities are snapped by the grid lines.
Expand in time - Start (time) - End (time). By activating the option Expand in time the grid lines are pulled across the whole view. When deactivating this option, the grid lines will only be shown over the entered time area.
Equation - Using defined equations you can stagger chainage or even completely remove segments. Read the chapter Distance Axis Definitions.
Station Points - When choosing defined distance profiles a grid line is automatically entered at these points. Defined time and distance grids can be shown within the view of all time cells, distance cells, and time-distance cells.
