Ways to access
Select a time scale or a distance scale in a view. Click the Time Scale Lines (or Define Time Scales?) dialog in the Object Properties pane (Details toolbar).
Steps
Define a time scale
Using the button, you can add entries or delete entries.
You can change the order of the scale entries using the up and down buttons.
Double-click or use the button to open the details of an entry.
Give the scale entry a name. This name can be shown as a legend on the scale.
Click in the field Expression and delete the existing entry. Using the F8-button you can receive a list of available data fields.
Change the format of the text if necessary. The fundamental settings can be done directly in the table.
In the Every interval field, enter the repetition of the printed value and select a time unit.
Zero-point
This date decides from which date is counted for all relative data fields.
For the calendar week, this date decides the beginning of the week (weekday).
For the year the relation date decides the beginning of the year (01.01.xx).
If you activate the option Rotate, the text is shown vertically.
Enter the width (if the time axis is vertical) for the scale entry.
Select the Text placement:
Center - Text is shown between 2 grids.
After dash - Text is shown after the grid.
On dash - Text is shown on the grid.
Before dash - Text is shown in front of the grid.
Show Station ahead/Post - Only for equations.
14. Select the Alignment of the text:
Right - The text is adjusted to the right.
Center - The text is centered.
Left - The text is adjusted to the left.
Example for text placement and alignment:
Calendar week: Text placement between grids, alignment vertical, center
Date: Text placement after the line, alignment left
Time: Text placement before the line, alignment right
Select the text color, line color, and background color.
Should the time scale only be shown over a special time range, activate the Show area option, and enter a start and end for the scale entry.
Define a distance scale
Select the object scale.
Select the tab distance scale in the Details Toolbar.
Using the button you can add entries or delete entries using the button .
You can change the order of the scale entries using the buttons upwards and downwards .
Open the details of an entry with a double-click.
Give the scale entry a name. This name can be shown as a legend on the scale.
Click in the data field and delete the existing entry. Using the F8-button you can receive a list of available data fields.
Change the format of the text if necessary.
Enter an interval for the repetition and select a distance unit.
Using the value from distance you can move the zero point of the scale.
Activate the option turn and the text is shown vertically.
Enter the height (if the distance axis is horizontal) for the scale entry.
Select the text placement. Same options as for time scale will apply.
Select the alignment of the text. Same options as for time scale will apply.
Select the text color, line color and background color.
Should the distance scale only be shown over a special distance area, activate the option show area and enter a start and end for the scale entry.
If there is an equation in the distance, activate the option to show relative coordinates and select a distance equation from the list. Additionally, you can activate it so that only the station points from the equation are shown.
To show station points within a distance scale, these must previously be defined as station points in the libraries. Should these station points be displayed only, activate the option Display station points only.
Determine the position of the scale in relation to all cells
Select the object scale.
Select the tab position in the Details Toolbar.
Activate the option fit and the scale is fit across the whole cell. Otherwise you can enter the start and end of the scale manually.
Select an alignment for the scale from the list:
Beginning of the Cell - The scale is aligned at the beginning of the distance or time range.
End of the Cell - The scale is aligned at the end of the distance or time range.
Beginning of the Visible Area - The scale is aligned at the beginning of the distance or time range. Scroll the working window and the scale stays at the beginning of the working window.
End of the Visible Area - The scale is aligned at the end of the distance or time range. Scroll the working window and the scale stays at the end of the working window.
Select a layer for the scale.
Activate the option Display legend at the beginning/end and the name of the scale entries is shown as a legend.
Additionally, select size of legend and whether the text should be turned by 90 degrees within the legend.
