Project Options 2

Use the Project 2 page to define defaults for new subprojects and views, as well as the display within lists.

Ways to access

  • On the menu, select Tools > Options > Project 2 tab.

  • Click the Options icon > Project 2 tab.

View

  • Default axis direction - Select from the list whether the time axis for a new view should run horizontally or vertically. You can change the Axis Direction within a view on the Tab - Cell.

  • Default calendar - Select a calendar for display within a new view from the list. You can change the display within a view on the Tab - Display.

Display option for lists

  • Display flat Activity list on link edit - You will see an activity selection list when you, for example, create links for activity using the Tab - Links. By using this option, all project structures within an activity selection list are ignored and all Activities are shown on one level. You can jump to a particular Activity name within the selection list by directly entering a letter.

  • Display Activity ID in an activity display list - If you activate this option, the activity ID of the activity is shown additionally within the Activity display list.

  • Display ID in display text of library items - Similarly to Activities, the ID of library items can be shown ahead of the name in the library tree and selection lists.

  • Display station points as a flat list - You will see a selection list for example if you select the coordinates of an activity. If you activate this option all station points are shown on one level within the selection list.

Library: Display and settings for activity groups and templates

  • Start date - This sets a new start date for all activity groups. The end date is calculated by the longest activity on each reschedule of an activity group.

  • End date - This sets the default end date of a new Activity group.

  • Axis - Changes the direction of the axis in the working window for Activity Templates, Activity Groups, and Symbols in the Libraries.

  • Distance Axis Descending - Changes the direction of the distance axis in the working window for Activity Templates, Activity Groups, and Symbols in the Libraries.

  • Time Axis Descending - Changes the direction of the time axis in the working window for Activity Templates, Activity Groups, and Symbols in the Libraries.

  • Copy the properties for a new template from parent - If you create new Activity templates within the library then they are created as a copy of the parent entry.

  • Copy the properties for a new template from - Using this option, new Activity templates that are created with an import are copied from the selected Activity template.

Project Area (subproject defaults)

  • Start (distance)/End (distance) - The distance coordinates for new subprojects in the default distance unit.

  • Start (Date)/End (Date) - Start and end date for new subprojects.

  • Apply to all subprojects - If you wish to transfer changed data to existing subprojects and views, Click this button.

Note: The distance and time coordinates are only subsequently transferred to subprojects where the Adjust distance by file new wizard and subproject defaults or Adjust time ... option are activated under Properties - subprojects.

Calculation Settings

  • Enable new calculation method for Time Profiles - In versions 10.3 and above, check this box to better reconcile the interaction of time and distance profile calculations. For example, with this enabled, the sector type allocated to a point shades the area before the point, but not after the point, which keeps it consistent with values for the point.

Note: Important! Based on this upgrade to the way profiles are used to calculate durations, your Activity dates in new (after 10.2 MR3) projects will be more accurate (this new calculation method is the default for new projects). However, for existing projects in which you want dates and durations to remain as they are, you are given the option to keep the previous calculation method (the old calculation method is the default for existing projects). Otherwise, you can choose to enable the new calculations for your current projects (created before version 10.3).

Mass Haulage Settings

In this section some Defaults for Working with Mass Haulage are defined:

  • Diagram Layer - This is the layer each Mass Haulage Diagram is assigned to. (You may use the layer order for different visibility orders)

  • Haul unit - Define the Quantity unit for Haulages. This unit is used/displayed in all Mass Haulage context and dialog.

  • Haul Product unit - Select the Haul Product unit from the dropdown list of units in the library. Haul Product is defined as Haul quantity multiplied with Haul distance

  • Distance unit - Select the Distance unit from the dropdown list of distance units in the library. This is the default distance unit for distances in Mass Haulage context.

  • Default Haulage Type - Select the Haulage Type that is assigned to a new haulage.

  • Default Area Type - Select the Mass Area that should be assigned by default when mew mass areas are created.

  • Style of Zero Line - Select the Line style from the dropdown list. The Zero Line is the separator line between Cut areas (above zero line) and Fill areas (below zero line).

  • Font - Here you may set up the default font for New Texts on the Mass Haulage diagram.

  • Cut and Fill Activities have same direction - Check this option if cut and fill Activities should have the same direction in the time distance view.
