Create Distance Graphics

Use graphic objects to create distance graphics within a distance cell.

Ways to access

  • Click icons on the Insert toolbar.

Options

  • Line - Horizontal help line

  • Rectangle - Red rectangle for the display of the landfill

  • Single Line Text - Title and text on the help lines

  • Multi-Line Text - Orange and green text fields for the ground removal and ground installation

  • Symbol - Arrow with text

Example

Here is an example of creating a system graphic using the objects above. Create a distance cell within a view and select a distance-time cell as the Master cell of relation. Using the tab Grid you can select an already existing distance grid. All objects used for a distance sketch are scaled on both axes. The cell size can then be subsequently changed or the distance sketch can be used in all views (sizes).

Steps

Add a line

  1. Select the object Line from the Insert Toolbar.

  2. Create the object line in the distance cell by clicking and dragging.

  3. On the tab Position set the Scale on Both axes and enter the Start and End on the distance.

  4. For the vertical alignment (Metric) the entry follows in percentage of the cell height.

In this example, 3 horizontal lines were drawn at 30%, 50% and 70%. These values serve the purpose of the vertical alignment of all other objects:

Add a text comment

  1. Select the object Insert Textfieldfield from the Insert Toolbar.

  2. Create the object text comment in the distance cell by clicking and dragging.

  3. On the tab Position set the Scaling on Both axes and enter the Start on the distance.

  4. For the vertical alignment (Metric) the entry follows in percentage of the cell height.

In this example, the title and the text on the lines as text comments were placed at 30%, 50% and 70%:

  1. Enter the content on the tab Text and select the text alignment and format.

Add a rectangle

  1. Select the object Rectangle from the Insert Toolbar.

  2. Create the object rectangle in the distance cell by clicking and dragging.

  3. On the tab Position set the Scale on Both axes and enter the Start on the distance.

  4. For the vertical alignment (Metric) the entry follows in percentage of the cell height.

In this example, the red rectangle for the landfill was placed at a height of 10%. The start is at 65%, the end at 75%. Thus the rectangle lies centrally on the third line:

  1. Enter the format of the rectangle the background color on the tab display.

Add text fields

  1. Select the object Multi Line Text from the Insert Toolbar.

  2. Create the object text field in the distance cell by clicking and dragging.

  3. On the tab Position set the Scale on Both axes and enter the Start on the distance.

  4. For the vertical alignment (Metric) the entry follows in percentage of the cell height.

In this example, the text fields were placed at a length (height) of 10% and in each case centrally on the lines:

  1. Enter the content on the tab text field and select the text alignment and format, e.g. the background color.

Please note, that text will only be completely shown when the size of the text field is large enough!

Add symbols

  1. Select the object Insert Graphic Object from the Insert Toolbar.

  2. Create the object symbol in the distance cell by clicking and dragging.

  3. In the Dialog Insert Graphic Object select the option Insert symbol from the library and select the required symbol from the list.

  4. Enter the required text for the object arrow on the tab position as a name.

  5. Set the scale on both axes and enter the start on the distance.

  6. For the vertical alignment (Metric) the entry follows in percentage of the cell height.

In this example, the angled arrows were entered with a length (height) of 8% and in each case, positioned between the relevant lines:

  1. Select the Text field on the symbol and set the Angle on the tab Text.
