Use the Activity Selection dialog to select the required predecessor/successor.

By selecting an activity in the required subproject, you select this as the predecessor/successor.
Click the Show Flat Activity List button and the structure of the sub-project disappears to show all activities within a flat list.
If the Show Activity ID option in the activity display text is activated in Tools > Options > General, the Activity ID is shown before every activity. The Activity ID can be generated, either manually or automatically in the General tab for each activity.
