Snap Options

Use the Snapping page to simplify the positioning of objects, set a user-defined 'activity-' and/ or 'Object Snapping' grid.

These settings are valid for all cells within a project.

Ways to access

  • Select Tools > Options > Snapping tab (or click the Options icon on the Main toolbar).

Activity snapping

When moving an activity graphically there is a snap grid that helps position the activities. It can be set up for time and distance separately.

  • Time - Input field to enter a time-related value. Select a time unit from the drop-down menu for the current snap grid.

Distance

  • Specified Grid lines -Activate this option and the defined grid lines only are used as a snap grid. They must have the flag "Snap" checked.

  • Distance - Input field to enter a value for the snap grid. The unit of the value is the same as the selected one in the tab distance as the Display unit.

Object snapping

  • Time -Select a value and a unit to oversee the time-related snapping of the Pinpoint of an object. For not scaled objects, select a value to operate the sizing of an object. An object is not scaled relating to time if there is no time-dimension in the cell (e.g. a distance or a graphic cell) in the object is located in.

  • Distance -Select a value and a unit to oversee the distance-related snapping of the Pinpoint of an object. For not scaled objects, select a value to operate the sizing of an object. An object is not scaled relating to distance, if there is no distance-dimension in the cell (e.g. a time or a graphic cell) in the object is located in.
