Display Data from a Baseline

Use the Display tab to control whether the data/presentation of activities from a baseline are displayed visually or as activity text.

Ways to access

  • Click the background (an empty space) of a time-distance cell. Then click the Display tab in the Object Properties pane.

Steps

Show/hide activities from a baseline in a time-distance cell

  1. Click in a time-distance cell in an integrated view. ...

  2. In the Object Properties pane > Display tab, check/uncheck the Display baseline activities to show/hide the actual baseline.

  3. To select the actual baseline in the Baseline manager, select Tools > Baseline Manager in the menu.

Show/hide activities from a baseline in a Gantt chart cell

  1. Double-click a Gantt chart object in a view.

  2. Right-click and select Gantt Chart Settings.

  3. ...

  4. In the Object Properties pane > Display tab, check/uncheck the Display baseline activities to show/hide the actual baseline.

  5. To select the actual baseline in the Baseline manager, select Tools > Baseline Manager in the menu.

Create an activity annotation with values from a baseline

  1. Right-click an activity in a view or an activity list and select Add Activity Annotation in the context menu.

  2. Specify these options in the Add Activity Annotation dialog:

  • Name - Enter a name for the annotation. Annotation objects are listed by this name in the Object Properties pane > Other objects tab when you click in a time-distance cell.

  • Pinpoint - Select whether the annotation should be attached to the Start, Center, or End position of the activity.

  • Scaling - Select Distance axis, Time axis, Both axes, or None to define whether the annotation will be scaled when changing the ruler.

Note: We recommend that you do not set scaling for annotations. For additional details, see the Adding Activity Annotations help topic.

  1. Enter the annotation in the large text field. To see a list of text tokens that show activity information, click in the text field and press F8. Tokens referring to baseline data are located in folders named Baseline. ...

  2. Click OK.

Show/hide text with values from a baseline

  1. In the Tilos Explorer, click + to expand Library > Graphic Libraries > Layer.

  1. Click the Add Layer icon and create a new layer.

  2. Enter the Name for the layer, e.g., “Text Baseline".

  3. Switch back to a view.

  4. Select the activity annotation with the values from a baseline.

  5. In the Object Properties pane > Position tab, select the new Layer.

  6. Click the cell and select the Layer tab.

  7. Check/uncheck boxes for the layers you want to show/hide.
