Options
Short name - The name that appears in the Navigation Area and the Allocation to Activities.
Name - An additional description can be added as a name.
Parent - Using the Subordinate Entry list, the structure of the resources is shown and can be edited.
Resource ID - A unique alphanumeric identifier you can use to distinguish resources.
Default allocation data
Type - Specify whether the resource is Permanent, Consumable, or Component resource.
Operation model - Depending on the selected type, choose a related model. You will see a list of Models according to the type selected. For details, see the Defining Resource Models help topic.
Unit - Select a time unit for the permanent and component resources ( Unit costs are entered for this unit) or for the quantity of consumable resources. For permanent resources only time units are shown.
Operation value - Based on the selected Operation model this shows the meaning of the input value. If model = Allocation, the Operation value is the number of allocated resources. Using the arrow on the right of the input value field, you can see a table showing default values for input. The entry value is based on the selected model and shows a default value that can be individually changed for the Activity.
Rounding - For all models the allocation of the resource can be rounded. This works only for permanent resources.
No rounding - The decimal value goes into the input calculation.
Normal rounding - Rounded to the nearest number up and down. The effort is then calculated based on the rounded value. …
Round up - Rounded to the next higher whole number. …
Use for resource (actual) - Check this box to enter actual resources using the actual resource wizard, which copies only those planned resources to actual resources, where this flag is set. Activate this option if you wish to collect actual resources using the wizard for actual resources.
Display in annotation - Check this box to list the allocated resources as annotations in permanent or consumable resource tokens. Activate this option if the allocated resource should be included in the Activity token for resources.
Supply - This field is only for consumable resources. The flow of material can be shown by differentiating each allocation whether it consumes or supplies. These are default values that can be changed on each allocation. It can be differentiated if material is booked as Supply (Option checked) or Consume (Option unchecked). …
Labor resource - This flag indicates that it is a labor resource. Hours of labor resources are especially summed and shown for the Activities in the Dashboard and Tokens. If checked, the effort of these resources are summed to a total hours field listed in Dashboard.
Cost data
Account - Select the account to which the costs of the resource should be booked.
Adjust all - Click this button to exchange the account and update all activities that have had this resource allocated. To subsequently exchange the account and update all activities with this resource allocated, click this button and click OK.
Unit cost - Enter the cost per unit.
Currency - Select the currency for the costs.
Cost flow - Select a cost flow:
Cost -
Income -
The cost flow Without, ignores the amount entered. …
Additional data
These are special options for railway projects to calculate the train length based on the material they transport.
Role - This option defines the role of this resource within the train. …
Locomotive - This resource allocation is a locomotive in the train.
Wagon (to calculate) -
Track Renewal Machine -
Wagon (loaded) -
Wagon (not loaded) -
Resource to calculate - The resource having this role assigned interacts with the activity data field quantity. Having the spoil or a ballast train, then the ballast is transported with these wagons and unloaded from these wagons. For the spoil train the wagons are empty at the beginning of the Activity and get fields in the Activity. For the ballast train it is reversed.
Weight (empty) - These are extra wagons in the train and not used in the Activity … calculation. The weight unloaded is used when calculating the weight of the train.
Weight (loaded) - these extra wagons in the train are not used in this Activity. The wagon is loaded. The weight loaded is used when calculating the weight of the train.
Track renewal train - This option controls only the calculation of the lead and lag if train type in Activity calculation is set to "Track renewal train".
Length - Length of the resource in the selected distance unit (e. g., wagon). The length of the train is calculated by the number of wagons assigned and is used to calculate the lag in the Distance Parallelogram.
Width - Select a Distance Unit from the list for the Length. …
Width and Height show the size of the resource. They are not used further in the software. …
Weight (empty) - Weight of the resource when unloaded.
Workload - Quantity that one resource can load. The quantity unit refers to the activity quantity unit on the Calculation of the Activity tab. …
Weight (loaded) - Weight of the resource when loaded.
Axles - Number of axles the resource has. …
Display character - The display symbol is used in the context of Activity annotation. The token used is named: resource setup. This prints all resources used in the Activity where the resource role is set to any value not equals null. See also: resource calculation or Activity tokens
Built date - Date an unknown machine was built.
Train circulation
Length - Length of the resource in the selected distance unit. The length of the train for display in the Distance Parallelogram is calculated based on the number of assigned resources.
Distance Unit - Select a Distance Unit from the list.
Options - For a special display in a distance parallelogram the lag can be calculated. Enter here if it is a Locomotive, a Wagon or a Track Renewal Machine.
