Set Calendar Properties

Use the Calendar dialog or view to set calendar properties.

Ways to access

  • In the Tilos Explorer, expand Project Data > Calendars. Double-click Calendars to edit properties in the view or double-click an existing calendar to edit properties in the dialog.

Steps

  1. In the Tilos Explorer, click + to expand Project Data. Then double-click Calendars to open the list of existing calendars.

  2. Select a calendar in the list and click the Go to Calendar icon on the right side of the calendar view. (You can also simply double-click a calendar in the list.)
    In the preview, certain days, e. g., weekends, are highlighted. These colors conform to the Day Definition that has been set for specific days.

  3. On the Calendar View tab, review and edit any of these properties:

    • Name - Enter a descriptive name.

    • Calendar ID - Insert a user-defined ID for exchange with other project management systems.

    • Global Calendar (P6) - Check this box to make the calendar a global calendar in Primavera P6. Resource calendars have to be global calendars.

4. Click the Previous Year or Next Year icon to switch between the displayed year and a previous or a coming year in the calendar preview.

5. Click the Save Calendar As icon to create a copy of the current calendar.

Enter Exceptions

  • Click one or more dates (press Control to multi-select) in the Calendar view above to see properties in the fields below. Select a day resp. the days that have to be set as exceptions/ exceptions.

Selected Date

  • Date - Shows the date you have selected in the calendar view above.

  • Week - Shows the calendar week you have selected in the calendar view above.

  • Day definition - Select a predefined definition for the type of day you have selected.

  • Clear exception - If the day definition you have selected has exceptions, you can delete them, if needed.

Note: Exceptions will overwrite the settings of related days on the Periods tab.

Quick Assign

  • Default day definition -Select a default definition for the type of day you have selected.

  • Assign For Selection - Click to assign the default day definition to the selected days.

  • Import Exceptions - Click to import exceptions in an INI-File. ...

Base time unit (calendar)

To enable these options (if not available), select Tools > Options > Project tab and check the Base time unit (Activity calendar).

For all activities, the duration is calculated based on these values:

  • Duration unit - Enter one or more characters to display as a time unit after the duration.

  • Correlated minutes - Specify the number of minutes to calculate the duration. Display duration in Duration unit = Exact duration of the activity divided by Correlated Minutes.

Example: A 10 hour working day has 600 minutes.

  • Calculate - Click to calculate the average daily working time of a time series.

Primavera hours per time period

These settings are needed only for exchanging calendars with Primavera project management. With these settings, the calendar gets created in Primavera.
