Activity Options
Use the Activity page to define the options for Activities, for the calculation model and the display of the work rate time unit.
Ways to access
On the menu, select Tools > Options > Activity tab.
Activity
Default Calendar - If a calendar has not been entered within the Activity template, Tilos uses the default calendar for new Activities. Otherwise, the calendar in the Activity template is used.
Default Calculation model - If a calculation model has not been entered within the Activity template, Tilos uses the default calculation model for new Activities. Otherwise, the calculation model in the Activity template is used.
Default Work Rate Time Unit - If a work rate time unit has not been entered within the Activity template, Tilos uses the default work rate time unit for new Activities. Otherwise, the work rate time unit in the Activity template is used.
When changing start/end time in dialogs - Here you can decide if the Activities are sized or moved by entering a new start and end date.
Change the duration (sizing)
Keep the duration (moving)
Default Activity template - This default template is used if you create new Activities within the Activity list or with Activity import (if import has no template defined itself)
Start (Distance) - This distance information is used if you create new Activities within the Activity list or within the Gantt chart cell.
End (Distance) - This distance information is used if you create new Activities within the Activity list or within the Gantt chart cell.
Display Quickinfo for Activities - If you activate this option, information to an activity is displayed if you move over it with the mouse. Enter the required information/tokens in the text box below. You can revert to the data field using F8.
Activity calculation summary - In the Tab - Calculation an info field can be displayed to show further Activity data based on tokens. This field can be set up in a similar way as tooltips.
Rescheduling
Move Activities without incoming links to begin of projects - If you activate this option, all Activities without incoming links are moved to the start of the sub-project when rescheduling.
Move not performed Activities after report date - If you activate this option, the incomplete Activities can be placed earlier then the report date when rescheduling.
Calculate duration left - This option works only for Activities with a simple progress model applied. The progress point of the Activity gets moved to the report date.
If the option is not checked, the whole activity is moved. The upper Activity, it is moved to the right and the lower is moved to the left, that complete not performed Activity is beyond the report date.
If the option is checked, the upper activity, it is made longer, that complete not performed Activity is beyond the report date, the lower is made shorter.
Skip options dialog on Reschedule - If unchecked the Reschedule Dialog appears before executing Reschedule
Check train setup after reschedule - If this option is checked, then after reschedule Tilos checks, if a ballast train or a spoil train has got enough wagons assigned. If the value "unused wagons at the end of Activity" is negative, then an error is reported.
Run clash detection after reschedule - If this option is checked, then after reschedule the clash detection is performed. Clash detection can also be activated using the Object Toolbar.
Default link attribute - Set the default Link categories category, that new links created get by default.
Ignore free floats smaller than - (while calculating critical path) - Activities with floats are never shown as critical in the first steps. However, if you enter a value in this field, e.g. 8h, an activity with a Free Float that is smaller/equals 8h is already shown as critical.
Note: Although there is no specific function for displaying a near-critical path (like the Tools > Options > Display > for Critical path color), you can use the Ignore free floats smaller than setting that results in rescheduing in a "near-critical task".
Display links independent of successor visibility - Links are only then displayed if both the predecessor and the successor are visible. However, a successor can be hidden using a filter. If you activate this option, the link is shown anyway.
Link creation - Set lag from activity position: If this option is set, then on link creation, the lag of the Activities is calculated based on the position of the Activities to each other. The distance will then be kept on reschedule.
Line Display No-Quantity (non-working line display)
Different display of non-working line sections - If you define a profile, you can activate the option non-work for a distance section. If this section should be shown with a special display, activate this option. Furthermore calendar based breaks of the Activity line are also handled as non working segments of an activity.
Line - Select an already existing line style from the list.
Vector line editor
Use special color - If you would like to apply a special color, then activate the option and select a color.
