Calculate Input Values

Use the Calculator dialog to enter a formula for calculating the Input value. In the calculator field, the formula can be entered like in a text box.

Ways to access

To use activity tokens press the F8 key and select any numeric Activity values from the list.

If you use Distance tokens (Length), they are formatted in base units. So if e.g. base unit is in "m" and the speed is in kilometers per hour, then a conversion is needed to transform the meters by 1000 (/1000).

If Duration is used, it can be specified in days or hours.

If the activity values change by editing or importing the values, then the variables in resource calculation are not automatically updated. Please press F5 to refresh or apply Reschedule.

If there is a mistake in the formula the result of the equation is always 0. No error message is shown.

The result of the analysis is always stored in the input field.

The formula above calculated the work rate of trucks in a mass haulage activity.

The operation model (Resource Model) model = Work rate, so Tilos calculates the number of needed trucks.

20 / (100 + {Haul factor}) * 100 : This calculates the cargo that 1 truck can load. The Haul factor from the activity level covers the bulkage of the material during excavating.

* 60 /  : The resource time unit = hours, so we need the value of what 1 truck can perform in 1 hour. We calculate the circulation time below in minutes. So 60 / circulation time = the number of cycles in 1 hour. This value multiplied by cargo = work rate.

 ( 10  + {Haul distance}/10 * 60/1000 + 5 + {Haul distance} / 20 * 60 / 1000)) : 10 min at the beginning is the loading time. The truck drives with 10 km per hour. (60 is conversion from hours to minutes, 1000 from km to meters).
