Import/Export - Step 3

Use page 3 of the Import/Export Wizard to specify an import/export profile. For more information, see Edit Import/Export Profiles and Edit XML Profiles.

A profile is a definition of a data interface that defines which objects and data fields are exchanged and in which way. Based on the type of data exchange you select, different options are shown.

Ways to access

Steps

  1. On the third screen, select the exchange profile you want to use.

    • For Plain Text Data (TXT) or Microsoft Excel Data Exchange (XLS) or Microsoft Excel Report formats:

      1. Select a profile.

      2. Click Edit to open the Import/Export Edit Profile dialog and make changes to the profile.

      3. (Optional) For export, click in the Filter box and select a predefined filter, or click the icon to open the Activity Filter dialog where you can edit an existing filter.

    • For generic XML Data (XML):

For import

  1. Choose an option:

    • Select XML profile from file – Choose an existing profile from C:\ProgramData\Tilos\Tilos10-Data\Exchange\Profiles.

    • Use profile in data file – Use the profile that was previously embedded in the data file when it was exported (see Embed exchange profile in data destination below).

Note: If Tilos detects a profile within the data file, this option is preselected.

  1. Import lags – Include lags, but note that MSP has only one lag type and Tilos has many, so if the lag type from MSP is imported, then you will lose the complete Tilos-specific network plan logic.

For export

  1. If you want to include the exchange profile in the exported file, check the Embed exchange profile in the data destination box.

Note: Checking the Embed exchange profile in the data destination box allows for a simpler import without a profile.

  • Select an external file-based XML profile from C:\ProgramData\Tilos\<version-Data>\Exchange\Profiles.

  • Click Edit to open the XML Profile Editor and make changes to the profile.

  1. Click Finish to complete the export/import.
