Split Activities
Use the Split Activity dialog to define which method is used to split the selected activity.
Ways to access
Select an activity in a view or list, right-click, and select Activity Creation > Split Activity.
Options (by Method)
Distance-based splits
By Distance position - Splits the activity on the entered position on the distance.
By Distance profile - Splits the activity into 2 pieces, at the point of the selected distance profile line entry. Select a distance profile line.
By sector profile - Splits the activity into 3 pieces, at the point of the selected sector profile line entry. Select a Sector profile line.
Split into 3 parts - Splits the activity into 3 pieces.
As from, enter the 1st splitting point and as to enter the 2nd splitting point.
Split into pieces with fixed lengths - Enter the Length for the piece. The rest is automatically created as the last piece.
Time-based splits
By Date - Splits the activity on the date and at the time given.
By Duration - Splits the activity according to the given duration.
Additional Options can also be undertaken:
Create summary around activity - The parts of the activity are added to an activity summary.
Keep activity progress group - Check this option, if regarding progress, the split activities should be handled like it is still one activity, so one % progress value is calculated.
Put new activities to the same bar line: Check this option, if the Gantt chart is in non-grouped mode, both activities should appear on the same bar line.
Split annotations - Text annotations on the activity are split into pieces.
The text at the beginning of an Activity is then only shown on the first piece and the text at the end only on the last piece.
Link activities after split - Using this option, an End-Beginning Link between the pieces is created.
Synchronize successor distance - If you activate this option, the coordinates of the predecessor are transferred to the successor. If the distance coordinates change for the predecessor, the successor is moved on the distance!
Select the synchronization mode that should be applied.
